Changes to fines

From 3 October 2016, fines for overdue books will change. Items which are overdue and requested by another reader will acrue £1 per item per day (before 20p). Items which are overdue, but not requested by someone else, will acrue fines at 10p per item per day (before 20p).

Fines for all borrowers at the Divinity Library:

from 3 October 2016 before 3 October 2016
Overdue (open-shelf) book requested by another reader £1.00 per item, per day £0.20 per item, per day
Overdue (open-shelf) book (not requested by someone else) £0.10 per item, per day £0.20 per item, per day

Overdue book from the Temporary Reserve Collection (must be read in the Divinity Library)

£0.50 per item, per hour £0.50 per item, per hour

Please be aware that anyone borrowing from the Divinity Library can put a hold on a book (i.e. the due date of the book will not change, but the person who has borrowed it cannot renew it beyond this date).

Recalling a book, means that the person who has borrowed the book will be emailed about the original due date being shortened. Only members of the Divinity Faculty can recall a book.

Please note that the minimum loan period for open-shelf books is 5 working days.
