Eriugena Seminar | Easter Term 2018

Periphyseon (De divisione naturae), Book 2

on Trinitarian processions & Primordial causes

 

 

We will continue our seminar on the magnum opus of John Scottus Eriugena's Periphyseon (De divisione naturae), composed between 864-866.

We will be using the critical edition of Édouard Jeauneau, and the edition of Peter Dronke, and we will also consult the English translation of Inglis Patrick Sheldon-Williams.

The first half of the gathering will be spent in reading the text in the original and in translation; the second half, in discussion.
