The Divinity Library wishes to recruit a Junior Library Assistant to help with Issue Desk duties and reader inquiries. The successful applicant will be joining a small, dedicated library team providing a high quality service to meet the needs of users working in religious studies. Having worked in a library as well as having an interest in repairing books is desirable.

All working hours will be at the issue desk duties, but cover for breaks will be provided. You will be expected to shelve some newly processed, as well as books returned from loan; also there will be other miscellaneous duties, such as rubbing out pencil annotations in our books.

In term time only: 20 hrs per week; ideally hours should be split as follows: 5 days per week, Monday to Friday: 9:45-12:15 plus 12:45-14:15; however, we might be able to be flexible, as long as the post holder can work hours on at least 4 days per week (and not all of them being consecutive days).

You will have a helpful and supportive attitude and be a good team worker with excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.

The vacancy is for term-time only (3x9 weeks, for dates see; however, to allow for the initial training before the beginning of the academic year, work will start on Monday 4 September 2017 (or as soon as possible after that). This position is fixed-term for 12 months, with the possibility of this employment to be made permanent afterwards.
