Laura Anellia Soureli


Education: MSt (Oxon), MSc (Imperial College), BSc (York)

Laura is a doctoral researcher at the Faculty of Divinity. She focuses on cross-cultural dialogue between the Abrahamic religions, with particular interests in patristics and mystical currents. Her PhD thesis provides a new reading of the ‘prayer of the heart’ and the experience and narrative of the practice of contemplative prayer and deification. Before turning to the study of Eastern Orthodox mystical theology, Laura worked in mathematics and finance.

Changes to fines

From 3 October 2016, fines for overdue books will change. Items which are overdue and requested by another reader will acrue £1 per item per day (before 20p). Items which are overdue, but not requested by someone else, will acrue fines at 10p per item per day (before 20p).
