C.F.D. Moule Studentship

New MPhil studentship now available.

The Faculty of Divinity and Clare College are delighted to announce an MPhil studentship for home/EU candidates intending to start graduate study in October 2017. The studentship is funded by the CFD Moule Memorial Fund, which was established following the death in September 2007 of the Reverend Professor C.F.D. ('Charlie') Moule and was contributed to by many former students and alumni, and by others who had been influenced by him.

Charlie Moule (b.1908) lived and taught at Cambridge from 1936 to his retirement in 1976. He was Vice-Principal of Ridley Hall, a Fellow and Dean of Clare College, and from 1951 the Lady Margaret Professor of Divinity. Generations of students are indebted to his studies of New Testament Greek (especially An Idiom Book of the New Testament (1953)), and of many key topics concerning the history and theology of the New Testament.

He is remembered with affection by former colleagues and students at Clare College.
