Books (monographs)

The Divinity Library holds about 62,000 physical volumes, of which 56,000 are books.

The Divinity Library has always understood itself also as a research library, and catered for the needs of its PhD students and its academics - their usage of the collection, and in case of the PhD students also of the library as a study space is very pronounced. Whereas we primarily acquire books in English, there are noticeable holdings in French, German, Greek, Latin, plus a collection of bibles in many, less commonly-read (in academic circles) languages.
