Faculty achieves Athena SWAN Bronze Award

The Faculty of Divinity has been given an Athena SWAN Bronze Award in recognition of its commitment to gender equality.

The Athena SWAN Bronze Award is bestowed by the Equality Challenge Unit (ECU) to recognise and reward commitment to gender equality in higher education. The award is a major achievement that recognises the Faculty’s commitment to achieving gender equality across all its activities and the progress that it is making in this area. Thanks in particular are due to Dr Ankur Barua for putting in an immense amount of work and information gathering for the application, along with the ongoing work of the Equality and Diversity committee (and its previous Chair, Prof Pickstock).

There is always more to do, but this is a significant step.
