Stanton Lectures 2017/2018: ‘Theology and the Anthropology of Christian Life’

Professor Joel Robbins (Sigrid Rausing Professor of Social Anthropology) will deliver the 2017/2018 Stanton Lectures.

All lectures will take place on Wednesdays at 4.00pm in the Runcie Room at the Faculty of Divinity. ALL WELCOME

  • Wednesday 24th January: Theology and Anthropological Theory
  • Wednesday 31st January: From Discontinuity to Interruption
  • Wednesday 7th February: Sin, Atonement and Ways of Life
  • Wednesday 14th February: The Porsperity Gospel, Humanity, and the Problem of Judgement
  • Wednesday 21st February: On Lived Eschatology
  • Wednesday 28th February: Anthropology and Theology: on Transformative Dialogue and its Limits

Stanton Lecture Extra Sessions

Two discussion sessions, accompanying the Stanton Lectures,
will take place in the Lightfoot Room, Faculty of Divinity
Drink and nibbles will be provided.
