Postdoctoral Researchers are a vital part of the research life of the Faculty and we are keen to encourage applications to fellowship schemes, advertising for expressions of interest when they become available. In recent years, early career researchers in the Faculty have included British Academy, Marie Curie, Leverhulme, Newton International, and Templeton Fellows, as well as those holding junior research fellowships offered by Cambridge colleges.
The Faculty is only able to support a few such applications a year, and therefore holds an annual exercise to select them. Each year, via a process usually launched in May (though the timing may vary from year to year), the Faculty invites potential candidates who believe they have a postdoctoral project that could align productively with the Faculty's research agenda and strengths to submit expressions of interest setting out the scope, value, and suitability to the Faculty of their proposed project. A sub-committee of the Research Committee works with colleagues from all subject areas to select which projects to support and works with those candidates to develop their proposals.
The following opportunities are likely to be available:
British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships
Newton International Fellowships
Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships
