Widely relevant to locally agreed syllabuses for religious education and all GCSE exam boards covering Christianity. This video would be relevant to any Key Stage 3 lesson on the Ten Commandments and to Key Stage 4 lessons about Christian and/or Jewish sources of wisdom and authority.

  • List the differences between the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20 and in Deuteronomy 5.
  • Why do you think the ten commandments are still famous?
  • Which of the ten commandments do you think are a) most important, and b) least important?
  • In the Bible, the Ten Commandments are set apart from other laws as the words that God spoke directly to the Israelites. In what other ways can the Ten Commandments be seen as the epitome of God’s law?
