Adam explores the intersection of religion and politics in Nigeria's fourth republic with a particular focus on electoral behaviour. His research seeks to unsettle the elitist narrative of existing research by zooming in on grassroots dynamics, exploring how deeply and in what ways religion shapes political outcomes. Before joining Cambridge, Adam earned his BA in Comparative Religion from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), later completing a Master’s in the same field at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar, followed by a second Master’s in Religion and Politics at SOAS University of London. Throughout his postgraduate years, Adam has been deeply engaged with questions of interfaith relations and political theology, and with his background in religion and politics, wishes to broaden the scope of current literature on the Nigerian public sphere.
